Dôen is a collective of creative Los Angeles-based women that are thriving in what I will call a "By the women, for the women" support system that is thriving in the rise of femininism. Thats right, I said femininism, as in feminine fist as an "ism". In the spirit of a truly feminine cooperative Dôen creators Margaret and Katherine have partnered with an all female dream team to create casual yet classic fashion with ethical manufacturing and a social media platform based on featuring and sharing the lives and unique gifts of all the fabulous women that love their designs, including our dear friend Kelci Potter, Santa Cruz based goldsmith and designer featured in our images on Bohypsian.

Dôen has this energy about it that embraces motherhood in a way that is completely liberating and empowering. Unlike most big corporations that would never have a social opinion on human rights of politics Dôen is on the front lines supporting the American Civil Liberties Union to continue their amazing work defending individual rights and civil liberties. The company launched its spring line in 2016 with an emphasis on women rights, "WE USE DOMESTIC PRODUCTION WHEREVER POSSIBLE, AND CAREFULLY SELECTED OVERSEAS MANUFACTURES FOR OUR INTRICATE HAND-WOVEN, HAND-EMBROIDERED, AND KNIT PIECES. WHETHER IN CALIFORNIA, INDIA OR PERU, OUR PRODUCTION PARTNERS SHARE OUR COMMITMENT TO SUPPORT WOMEN IN THE WORKPLACE AND UNDERSTAND OUR MISSION TO DECREASE THE GENDER GAP AT EVERY POINT IN THE SUPPLY CHAIN. Since the start Dôen has defined its audience as empowered, educated, free willed, informed and activist minded women, which is what we need more of in these times of strong political tension. More and more the feminine is healing and coming together to lift one another up! Its a vibrant and self sustaining future on the rise where our belongings are made to last and have no strings attached to industries that poison our planets resources or peoples lives.
